What happens at my appointment?

At your appointment, you will arrive at the dealership and ask for the specific salesperson assigned to you. You will inspect the vehicle in person and take it for a test drive. If you decide to buy, you will complete the finance application and sign all final purchase documents.

Arrival and initial meeting

When you arrive at the dealership, proceed to the main reception desk or showroom floor. You will have the name of a specific salesperson or manager to ask for. The receptionist will notify them of your arrival, and they will come out to greet you.

This initial meeting sets the stage for your visit. The salesperson will confirm the vehicle you are interested in and retrieve the keys. They may ask for a copy of your driver's license at this point, which is standard procedure before any test drive.

If the vehicle is currently parked in a holding area or an overflow lot, the salesperson will bring it around to the front. This brief waiting period gives you time to get comfortable in the showroom.

Vehicle inspection and test drive

You will walk around the vehicle to conduct a visual inspection. Check the exterior for any scratches or dents, and examine the tires. Inside the car, test the electronics, air conditioning, and seat adjustments. This is your chance to verify the vehicle meets your standards.

Following the inspection, you will go on a test drive with the salesperson. They will guide you along a route that typically includes both local streets and a short highway segment. Pay attention to how the vehicle handles, engine noise, and overall comfort during the drive.

The test drive is the determining factor for many buyers. If the vehicle does not meet your expectations, you can conclude the appointment without any obligation. If you are satisfied, you will return to the dealership to proceed with the transaction.

Finalizing the transaction

If you choose to purchase, you will move to a desk or office to discuss the final steps. You will provide your necessary documents, such as proof of insurance and any trade-in paperwork, to the dealership staff.

You will then meet with the finance and insurance manager. They will print the legally binding contracts, title applications, and registration forms. You must review these documents carefully and sign them in the dealership's office.

After all signatures are collected and payment is verified, the dealership will provide you with the keys and temporary tags. You are then ready to drive your new vehicle off the lot.
