What Keyosk Does
Do I pay Keyosk anything?
No, you do not pay Keyosk anything. Our service is completely free for car buyers. You will never receive a bill, an invoice, or a hidden fee from us. We operate on a model where the dealership compensates us, allowing you to use our appointment booking service at zero cost.
How does Keyosk get paid?
Keyosk gets paid directly by the dealership, not by you. When you use our platform to find a vehicle and book an appointment, the dealership compensates us for connecting them with a potential buyer. This structure allows us to offer our appointment booking services to you completely free of charge.
What exactly does Keyosk do?
Keyosk simplifies your vehicle search by doing four main things. We help you find a vehicle that matches your criteria. We confirm the availability of that specific car with the dealership. We book an appointment for you to see it. Finally, we provide this entire service without charging you anything.
Do you negotiate the price for me?
No, we do not negotiate the price of the vehicle. The dealership sets the price of every car. Our role is strictly to find the vehicle, confirm it is available, and set up your appointment. Any discussions about pricing, financing, or trade-ins happen directly between you and the dealership staff.
Do you deliver cars to my home?
No, we do not deliver cars to your home or office. Keyosk is an appointment booking service. Once we confirm the vehicle's availability, you must visit the dealership in person to inspect the car, complete any necessary paperwork, and take delivery. You pick up the vehicle directly from the lot.
Why not just call the dealership myself?
You can always call a dealership directly. However, using Keyosk saves you time by having us confirm the specific vehicle is actually on the lot before you travel. We check availability and book a dedicated appointment for you, so the dealership is expecting you when you arrive at their showroom.
Is a car buying service legal in Florida?
Yes, operating as an appointment booking service is fully legal in Florida. We are not a broker. We simply connect buyers with dealerships by confirming vehicle availability and scheduling appointments. This complies with Florida Statutes Section 320.27, as we do not buy, sell, or negotiate the sale of motor vehicles.
What do you actually do before my appointment?
Before your appointment, we take specific steps to prepare. We contact the dealership to verify that the exact model and trim you selected is currently on their lot. We then schedule a specific time for your visit, so the dealership staff is ready and the vehicle is available for inspection.
If it is free, what is the catch?
There is no catch. Our service is entirely free to you because dealerships compensate us for scheduling appointments. You get the benefit of having vehicle availability confirmed and a specific time booked without any hidden fees, subscriptions, or surprise charges. You only pay the dealership for the car you purchase.
Am I obligated to buy anything?
No, you are never obligated to buy a vehicle. Booking an appointment through Keyosk simply reserves a time for you to view and test drive the car. If you inspect the vehicle and decide it does not meet your expectations, you are completely free to walk away with zero obligations.
What if I get there and do not like the car?
If you arrive at the dealership and do not like the car, you simply do not buy it. You are under no obligation to complete a purchase. You can walk away, ask the dealership to show you other options they have in stock, or use our service to find another vehicle.
Do you work for me or for the dealership?
Keyosk operates as an independent service connecting buyers and dealerships. While the dealership pays us for scheduling the appointment, we are not employees of the dealership. We are also not your agent or broker. We act as a scheduling platform to confirm availability and set up your visit to the lot.
What areas do you serve?
We serve clients primarily in the South Florida region, including Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. Our focus covers the major metropolitan areas and surrounding communities within these three counties, helping buyers navigate the local dealership landscape to find their preferred vehicle without leaving their immediate geographic area.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes, we have Spanish-speaking team members available to assist you throughout the vehicle search process. If you prefer to communicate in Spanish, simply inform us when you first contact our team, and we will ensure your primary point of contact is fluent in the language to provide clear communication.
Your Appointment
Do I still go to the dealership?
Yes, you will go directly to the dealership for your appointment. We schedule a time for you to meet with a salesperson at a local franchise dealership. You test drive the vehicle, finalize your paperwork, and complete your purchase in person. You will interact directly with the dealership staff throughout the visit.
How do I book an appointment?
You book an appointment by contacting us through a phone call or WhatsApp message. Once you identify a vehicle you want to see, reach out to our team. We will check the dealership's schedule, verify the vehicle is available, and set a specific date and time for your dealership visit.
What happens at my appointment?
At your appointment, you will arrive at the dealership and ask for the specific salesperson assigned to you. You will inspect the vehicle in person and take it for a test drive. If you decide to buy, you will complete the finance application and sign all final purchase documents.
How long does my appointment take?
The length of your appointment depends entirely on the dealership's internal processes and current customer volume. A visit can range from one hour for a simple cash transaction to several hours if the finance department is busy or if you are trading in a vehicle that requires appraisal.
Who do I work with when I get there?
When you arrive at the dealership, you will work directly with a salesperson employed by the dealership. We do not have staff on site. The dealership's salesperson will handle your test drive, answer questions about the vehicle, and introduce you to their finance manager to complete the final paperwork.
Which dealership do I go to?
We tell you exactly where to go based on which dealership has the specific vehicle available in their inventory. Because inventory is distributed across various franchise locations, we provide you with the name and physical address of the specific dealership holding the car you want to see.
What should I bring to my appointment?
You must bring a valid driver's license, proof of current auto insurance, and an accepted form of payment for your down payment. If you are trading in a vehicle, you must also bring the physical title or payoff information, current registration, and all keys for the trade-in vehicle.
What if the car is not there when I arrive?
If the car is not there when you arrive, it means the dealership sold it to another customer. Dealership inventory moves quickly, and vehicles are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. If this happens, we will look again and help you locate a similar vehicle at another dealership.
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes, you can change or cancel your appointment at any time. Simply contact us via phone or WhatsApp to let us know. We will inform the dealership so their salesperson is not waiting for you. There are no fees or penalties for modifying your scheduled visit.
Can I test drive the car?
Yes, you can test drive the car during your appointment. You will take the vehicle on local roads accompanied by the dealership's salesperson. The test drive allows you to evaluate the vehicle's performance, comfort, and handling before you make a final decision to purchase.
What if I live far from the dealership?
If you live far from the dealership, you must travel to the location to complete the purchase. There is no vehicle delivery option. You are entirely responsible for your own transportation to the dealership lot, regardless of the distance from your home.
Choosing Your Vehicle
Do you only work with Toyota?
While our focus is heavily on Toyota, we are able to assist buyers looking for other major automotive brands. The automotive market varies by manufacturer, but our approach to gathering information and exploring available options applies across most major vehicle lines.
Can you find a specific color and trim?
Yes, we can search for a specific color and trim. However, availability is entirely dependent on current market inventory and manufacturer production schedules. Rare color combinations or highly specific trim levels may take longer to locate or might not be currently available.
What if you cannot find the car I want?
If we cannot find the exact car you want, we will inform you of the current market constraints. You can choose to wait for inventory to improve, expand your search criteria, or pause the search entirely. We provide honest updates about availability.
Do you help with used cars?
We handle used car requests on a case-by-case basis. The used car market is highly fragmented, and each vehicle is unique regarding condition, mileage, and history. Our primary focus is on new vehicles, but we can assist with specific used car searches when possible.
What about Certified Pre-Owned?
We can search for Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles, but it is important to note that the dealership certifies the vehicle, not us. CPO vehicles offer manufacturer-backed warranties, making them more standardized than typical used cars, though they are still subject to individual condition variations.
Can you find a hybrid?
Yes, we can search for hybrid vehicles. However, hybrids are currently in high demand and short supply across many manufacturers. Locating a specific hybrid often involves longer wait times and navigating limited dealership allocations compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
Trade-Ins
What if I have a trade-in?
If you have a trade-in, the dealership where you purchase your new vehicle will appraise it. Keyosk does not appraise vehicles or purchase trade-ins. The dealership will evaluate your car's condition and offer a trade-in value, which can be applied to your new purchase.
Who decides what my trade-in is worth?
The purchasing dealership decides the final value of your trade-in. Keyosk does not set trade-in values. The dealership bases their offer on a physical inspection of the vehicle, current wholesale market data, and their own inventory needs at the time of the transaction.
What if I still owe money on my car?
If you still owe money on your trade-in, the dealership handles the payoff process. They will contact your lender to determine the exact payoff amount. This amount is subtracted from the trade-in value, and any positive equity is applied to your new purchase.
Should I trade it in or sell it myself?
The decision depends on your priorities. Selling it yourself often yields a higher sale price but requires more effort and time. Trading it in offers convenience and, in states like Florida, a sales tax credit that can offset the lower trade-in value.
What is Florida's trade-in sales tax credit?
In Florida, when you trade in a vehicle, you only pay sales tax on the difference between the price of the new vehicle and the value of your trade-in. This rule significantly reduces the total tax owed on the new purchase.
Do I need my title to trade in?
If you own the vehicle outright, you must provide the physical title to the dealership to trade it in. If you have an active loan on the vehicle, the lender holds the title (or it is held electronically), and the dealership will handle obtaining it during the payoff process.
Financing
Do you handle financing?
No, we do not handle financing directly or provide loans. Buyers work with the dealership's finance department or their own chosen financial institution to fund the vehicle purchase. Dealerships offer various financing structures, and buyers can also secure independent funds from a bank or credit union before finalizing the transaction.
Can I use my own bank or credit union?
Yes, you can use your own bank or credit union to pay for your vehicle. Many buyers prefer securing independent funds before completing a purchase. Dealerships accept outside financing, allowing you to present a draft or check from your institution to cover the out-the-door price of the car.
Should I get pre-approved first?
Many buyers choose to get pre-approved before visiting a dealership. Securing an auto loan pre-approval establishes a firm budget and simplifies the transaction process. Knowing your approved loan amount allows you to focus on the vehicle price and condition without wondering about financing limitations during the dealership visit.
What happens in the finance office?
In the finance office, buyers review and sign all legal documents required to complete the vehicle purchase. The finance manager finalizes the purchase agreement, processes loan applications if you use dealer funding, registers the vehicle, and presents optional protection products like extended warranties or gap coverage for your consideration.
Can I pay cash?
Yes, you can pay cash for a vehicle. Dealerships readily accept full payment without requiring a loan. When paying cash, you typically provide a cashier's check, a certified bank check, or arrange a wire transfer to cover the exact out-the-door price of the car.
Florida Basics
What is an out-the-door price?
The out-the-door price is the total final cost of the vehicle including all taxes, tag, title, and dealer fees. This represents the exact amount you must pay to complete the transaction and drive the vehicle away. It includes the agreed-upon vehicle price plus all mandatory government and dealership charges.
What is a dealer fee in Florida?
A dealer fee in Florida is a charge added by the dealership to cover administrative costs associated with processing the sale. Florida law does not cap the amount dealerships can charge for this fee, meaning it varies widely between different sellers. It must be disclosed prior to the final sale.
Are dealer fees negotiable in Florida?
Dealerships negotiate their fees on an individual basis. While some dealerships refuse to lower or remove their specific administrative charges, the total out-the-door price remains subject to discussion. If a dealer will not reduce the fee itself, they might reduce the vehicle price to offset the cost of the fee.
How much is sales tax on a car in Florida?
Florida charges a state sales tax of six percent on motor vehicle purchases. Additionally, your specific county may apply a discretionary sales surtax. This county surtax is applied to the first five thousand dollars of the purchase price, meaning the total tax rate varies slightly based on your registration address.
How much are tag and title in Florida?
Tag and title fees in Florida vary based on the vehicle type, weight, and whether you are transferring an existing license plate or purchasing a new one. Initial registration for a new plate incurs a higher cost than transferring a current valid plate from a previous vehicle you owned.
What documents do I need to buy a car in Florida?
To buy a car in Florida, you need a valid state-issued driver's license or identification card, proof of current auto insurance, and an accepted form of payment. If you are trading in a vehicle, you must also provide its title or payoff information and the current vehicle registration.
Do I need insurance before I drive off?
Yes, Florida requires proof of active automobile insurance before you can drive a newly purchased vehicle off the dealership lot. You must provide a current insurance card or binder demonstrating that the specific vehicle is covered under your policy in compliance with minimum state liability and property damage requirements.
What dealer add-ons can I refuse?
You can refuse optional products such as extended warranties, gap insurance, paint protection, and prepaid maintenance plans. Dealerships cannot force you to purchase these aftermarket add-ons as a condition of financing. However, certain physical modifications already installed on the vehicle, like tinted windows, might not be removable or negotiable.
