Our Independent Operational Status
Keyosk is an independent corporate entity. We are not owned by, operated by, or a subsidiary of any automotive dealership or dealership group. We maintain our own technology platform, our own staff, and our own operational protocols. When you use our service, you are engaging with a third-party technology provider. This independence is critical to our function. It allows us to aggregate inventory from various, competing dealerships and present it to you in a unified search interface. If we were employees of a specific dealership, we would only be able to show you their specific cars. By remaining independent, we can provide a broader view of the available inventory in your area and facilitate connections across different automotive retail networks.
Understanding the Financial Relationship
The financial relationship we have is with the dealerships. They compensate us for the service of connecting them with potential buyers who book appointments. However, this payment does not make us their employees, nor does it mean we manage their sales processes. It is a vendor relationship. Dealerships pay Keyosk much like they pay a website hosting company or a local television station for advertising space. We provide a marketing and scheduling service, and they pay for the results of that service. This means we do not have access to their internal financial systems, we do not dictate their pricing policies, and we have no authority over their staff. We deliver the appointment, and the dealership takes over the entire sales operation from there.
We Are Not Your Broker
Just as we are not employees of the dealership, we are also not your legal representative. A traditional auto broker acts as an agent for the buyer, taking a fee to negotiate on their behalf and manage the transaction. Keyosk does not operate in this capacity. We do not act as your agent. We do not offer legal or financial advice regarding your vehicle purchase. We do not negotiate the price of the car for you. Our relationship with you is strictly that of a platform user. You use our software and services to find a car and schedule a time to see it. When you arrive at the dealership, you are representing yourself. You are responsible for your own negotiations, your own vehicle inspection, and your own final decision on whether to purchase the vehicle.
