Do you handle financing?

No, we do not handle financing directly or provide loans. Buyers work with the dealership's finance department or their own chosen financial institution to fund the vehicle purchase. Dealerships offer various financing structures, and buyers can also secure independent funds from a bank or credit union before finalizing the transaction.

Understanding Dealership Financing

Dealership financing remains one of the most common ways to pay for a vehicle. When you choose to finance through the dealership, the dealer acts as a middleman between you and prospective lenders. The dealer's finance and insurance department will submit your credit application to multiple lending partners to find a loan structure that works for your situation. Lenders evaluate your credit profile, income, debt-to-income ratio, and the specifics of the vehicle being purchased.

Based on this information, lenders return decisions outlining the available loan amounts and conditions. The dealership then presents these options to you. While this method offers convenience because the transaction occurs entirely at the dealership, buyers should carefully review all loan paperwork. Keep in mind that the dealership may include a markup on the loan cost as compensation for arranging the financing. Reviewing the retail installment contract thoroughly is crucial to understanding the total cost of borrowing, the loan duration, and any additional fees included in the financing structure.

Independent Financing Alternatives

Buyers are not required to use the dealership's financing network. Many choose to arrange their own financing through an independent bank or credit union prior to arriving at the dealership. This approach, often referred to as direct lending, involves applying for a loan directly with a financial institution. If approved, the bank or credit union provides a commitment letter or a blank check up to a specified maximum amount. You can then use these funds to pay the dealership for the vehicle.

This method often allows buyers to compare loan offers across different institutions independently. Exploring independent financing can provide clearer expectations regarding your budget before viewing vehicles. Additionally, some buyers opt to pay for the vehicle entirely in cash, bypassing the financing process altogether. Cash transactions require providing a cashier's check or initiating a wire transfer for the total out-the-door price of the vehicle. Regardless of the chosen method, buyers remain fully responsible for selecting and securing their payment arrangements.
